TonyMoly Magic Food Golden Mushroom Sleeping Mask Laneige Water Sleeping Mask from Korea. Korean skin care K-beauty Europe

I prefer TonyMoly Magic Food Golden Mushroom Sleeping Mask over Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

Right now, I actually prefer the TonyMoly Magic Food Golden Mushroom Sleeping Mask over Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.

I never thought I would actually prefer the TonyMoly sleeping mask over Laneige! I say “actually” because the Korean brand Laneige is supposed to be a better mid-range brand in Korea, while Tonymoly is more budget. Don’t get me wrong, Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is so freaking fresh and hydrating, and I love it! But my skin is just SO dry right now, and TonyMoly Magic Food Golden Mushroom Sleeping Mask is much thicker and richer in formula!

Both korean sleeping masks are of good quality, I must say. And it’s perhaps a matter of skin type and preferences really. TonyMoly Magic Food Golden Mushroom Sleeping Mask is actually a perfect sleeping mask durring the cold winter months when the skin is extra dry and dull. I started liking this korean sleeping mask more and more after regular use. Might be too heavy for the summer. And this is not a product for oily skin! If you have oily or combination skin, then Laneige Water Sleeping Mask is definitely a better choice between the two. A Korean sleeping mask or sleep pack is applied as the last step of your skin care routine in the evening. You then sleep with the mask and wash your face as usual the next day. A korean sleeping mask locks in all the goodness of your skin care and gives an extra boost.

It may sound messy with an extra layer of skin care in the evening, but Korean sleeping masks are often absorbed well by the skin. They help to lock in and maximize your skin care during the night. Simply an extra boost for your skin.

  1. Hey it’s Kay again! I just bought Laneige Water Sleeping Mask today. I want to see what the hype is all about, because it seems to be universally loved and holy grails for all the Asian skincare bloggers that I’ve read.

I’m currently using Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask EX sleeping mask, because again due to how much everyone is swooning over the mask! I would use it on the weekends and the first day after using it, I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. I was like, “daaaamn my skin looks good!” but afterwards I didn’t really notice anything in particular. However when I went to Sweden I decanted some of it into a travel size squeeze tube and I used it every night when I was in Sweden and even now, after I came back. That’s when I really saw the difference – like even after I travelled 14+ hours flight each way, and had to go to work the next day with no sleep (because I was super jet lagged and couldn’t sleep) …I felt so awful but I didn’t look it at all! Instead I looked like I had 12 hours+ of beauty sleep or something – my skin looked so fresh, energised, vibrant, glowy…It’s so crazy!

Also, the skincare seems to be working out for my boyfriend! He would apply the skincare in the morning and it lasts several hours..He is using Belif recharger & Etude House Deep Cream in the mornings. It’s actually Half & Half cream, but it’s half Moistfull Collagen Cream, and half Deep Cream. Maybe next time I’ll get the Innisfree Orchid Intense cream too because his skin still got a bit dry after several hours.

In fact I wrote a blog post about it:

He said his body was itching as well so I slathered on snail gel and cocoa butter on his body and he said, “Snail and butter? It sounds like I’m going to be a French dinner!” LOL!!!!!!!!

p.s. I recently discovered that you both blog in English and Swedish! Du jobbar mycket hårt på bloggen! Jag borde läsa bloggen på svenska för att öva och förbättra min läsförståelse och läshastighet men ojjj jag känner mig så lat :p..

    1. Hi Kay, I like the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask a lot! It’s fresh and the whole Laneige Water Bank line is very hydrating still light I feel. I definitely have to check out Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask EX!! I’m sure you know I’ve already tried and reviewed the Sulwhasoo EX face cream which I loved! Nice that your boyfriend’s starting to like korean skin care, no progress with my man yet… ^^ “French dinner” haha! And nice blog post by the way! Have a great friday and weekend! And yes you should check out the Swedish blog too, I also have an instagram account were I post both in English / Swedish. Då kan du öva dig! 🙂
