Best wrinkle skin care! Mature skin 30+ 40+ and 50+

Today I’m sharing my best tips on how to best prevent wrinkles and signs of aging at the age of 30, 40 and 50+. Which ingredients to look for and products that really work!

Today I’ll share my best tips for radiant, even and healthy looking skin with a natural glow after the age of 30, 40 and 50+. The key is, in my opinion: proper cleansing, exfoliation and above all hydration hydration hydration! And yes, there are skin care ingredients specifically targeting elasticity, enlarged saggy pores, wrinkles and pigmentation, but the level of moisture is crucial in my opinion. I personally started a proper skin care routine late in life. It wasn’t until I was 35 years old that started testing and using Korean skin care. I had gone through skin cancer and my skin was dry, dull, wrinkly and not very nice looking. I chose K-beauty mostly because the products were cheap and still highly rated. In addition, I’d heard that snail creams could remove wrinkles and signs of aging. Since then I am hooked on K-beauty, and I would never dream of going to bed with makeup as we speak today! I’ve personally used 100% Korean skin care ever since, and will continue to do so for sure.

NOTE! I am not a skin therapist by any means but this post contains my personal tips for radiant and healthy looking skin.

It may not be possible to reverse time! But you can prevent signs of aging by keeping your skin healthy, fresh and hydrated, regardless of age!

Korean skin care 20+

Young skin produces large amounts of collagen and has high metabolism which makes the skin look naturally youthful, healthy and plump. The amount of collagen decreases with age, making the skin look increasingly thinner and more wrinkly. Your skin can heal itself and recovers more easily when you’re young. And you may have increased levels of sebum making your skin slightly shiny or oily? The skin might be perceived as resilient when young, and more sensitive when mature. The pores are elastic, as is the overall complexion in general. Maybe you don’t notice any signs of aging at all before turning 30? Despite of partying a lot and sleeping too little…

Tonymoly The Chok Chok Green Tea Line Oily Skin Combination Skin Acne Prone Skin Korean Skin Care K-Beauty Blog Europe

Tonymoly The Chok Chok Green Tea line is a very affordable Korean skin care line suitable for most skin types. Not too light and not too heavy providing good hydration.

No wrinkles no worries, right?! But in fact, we can damage our skin at the age of 20 even though it’s not visible to the eye. Later in life, both wrinkles, pigmentation and age spots will appear sooner or later. It’s always a good idea to use SPF and avoid harmful sunrays for preventive purposes. Sun-damaged skin will show permanent visible dark spots and wrinkles in a few years even though it doesn’t seem like that when you’re young. Make sure to protect and moisturize both your face, your neck, the decolletage and the top of your hands where pigmentation and wrinkles are often most visible. If you have dry skin, you can probably spot some dryness and fine lines around the eye area as you approach 30. Invest in good hydrating skin care products suitable for your skin type. Never neglect cleansing your skin, and definitely do not sleep wearing makeup. Hyaluronic acid is a deeply hydrating key ingredient that works for most skin types. Also look for ingredients like green tea. Cheap and affordable Korean skin care lines that I highly recommend are the Innisfree Green Tea line, the Innisfree Orchid line, the Etude House Moistfull Collagen line, the Etude House Pink Vital Water line, the It’s Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisture line and the Tonymoly Chok Chok Green Tea line. Somewhere between the age of 30 and 40, most people notice that the skin is slowly starting to change. The level of collagen is slowly decreasing and the skin might no longer look as youthful and dewy as before. Lines and wrinkles are forming and the skin may feel less plump and more saggy than before. The pores slowly lose their elasticity and can look larger and more prominent. The skin becomes thinner and more sensitive and may not heal as easily. In worst case, a popped pimple might end up like a permanent red / dark spot or even a scar. Some get drier skin as they get older due to reduced levels of sebum.

AHA and BHA Korean skin care, a miracle cure? K-beauty Europe

COSRX and Mizon makes very nice AHA and BHA products that exfoliates the skin and dissolves clogged pores. Choose BHA if you have an oily skin type with blackheads. Choose AHA if you have a dry skin type with wrinkles and lines.

Continue using hydrating and moisturizing skin care products. Add an eye cream and an anti-age serum if you haven’t already. 2-3 sheet masks / week do wonders for dry skin types. Keeping radiance and glow makes the skin look younger. Use SPF and avoid harmful sunrays which lead to more wrinkles, increased pigmentation and visible dark spots and age spots. Make sure to protect and moisturize both face, neck, decolletage and hands where pigmentation, wrinkles and aging skin is most visible. Skin care that helps the skin’s cell renewal, repairing, restoring and exfoliating the skin can help to maintain the freshness and radiance even as the skin is aging. Examples of such types of products are, for example, fermented ingredients, AHA acids, enzymes, peptides, collagen, vitamin C, Retinol, scrub masks & peels and snail products. For my recommendations, I really like the Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack which gently exfoliates the skin while you sleep. Purito Vitamin C serum is a gentle vitamin C serum that doesn’t irritate the skin. Both COSRX and Mizon offer very nice AHA products, including the Mizon AHA 8% Peeling Serum which is said to be as good as Paula’s Choice AHA serum. Mizon is also significantly cheaper! Mizon also offer great snail products including the Mizon Black Snail All In One Cream which I absolutely love. Exfoliating the skin frequently, ie removing dead skin cells from the skin’s surface, promotes the cell turnover and new healthy skin. However, be careful not to over exfoliate as too much exfoliation can lead to sensitivity, redness, irritation or at the worst damaged skin. After exfoliation, hydration is much required and hyaluronic acid is a great ingredient that works for most skin types. Korean classic Mizon Hyaluronic Acid Serum 100 or the Purito Hyaluronic Acid Serum are great ones to add in your routine. Follow the links to read more about the products mentioned.

Korean skin care 40+

By now, most people have noticed signs of aging in their skin. Diminished fullness, sagging pores, less elasticity, more lines and wrinkles and permanent pigmentation or age spots. Continue using deeply moisturizing and nourishing skin care products, especially at night. Apply several products in layers for maximum hydration. Finish off with a sleeping mask, especially if you have dry skin. I personally like to apply both an essence and several serums one after the other. Continue to exfoliate your skin weekly. But keep in mind that as we age, our skin might get thinner and more sensitive to harsh grains. Peeling gels effectively remove dead skin cells without sharp tearing. More tips in my recommendations for the best Korean exfoliating products in this post. In their 40s, many people take their skin care regime one step further and begin to do cosmetic treatments and procedures at the salon. For example microneedling, fillers and botox to maintain a youthful appearance. I personally have never done any such types of procedures this far, but I am curious about microneedling and Retinoid / Retin A in the future. Retin A is a form of vitamin A but much stronger than retinol. From which I know, by far the only substance that has proven to actually “reverse time” removing spots, wrinkles, pigmentation, melasma and acne scars improving the skin’s firmness and elasticity. Retin A should be used in small doses with great moderation as it’s an incredibly strong and effective ingredient that can cause irritation and flaky skin. Educate yourself carefully before testing this! Retin A / retinoid is sold at regular pharmacies in Spain or on prescription in the rest of Europe.

Best Korean snail cream anti-age wrinkles pigmentation mature skin Korean skin care K-beauty Blog Europe

Koreans make very nice high quality snail products with high contents of snail secret filtrate, up 90% actually. Snail products work against wrinkles, pigmentation and signs of aging, but they are also gentle enough for sensitive skin types.

Further, I also recommend continuing using SPF, fermented ingredients, AHA acids, enzymes, peptides, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, peeling and snail products. Remember to add extra nourishment and moisturization after exfoliation. I also recommend premium quality sheet masks, such as hydro-gel masks like this one from Tonymoly. Try different products until you find what works for your skin. Maybe you need to add spot treatment targeting dark spots or enlarged pores? Some of my personal favorite anti-age products from Korea include Mizon Black Snail All In One Cream, Tonymoly Age-Defying Snail Hydro-Gel Face Mask Sheet and the Missha Time Revolution line mainly the essence + the night serum. Also check out Korean brand Iope which has several good quality skin care lines targeting wrinkles. Including the Ipoe Age Corrector line and the Iope Nutrition Anti-wrinkle line. A more budget friendly alternative to targeting single wrinkles is the Innisfree Wrinkle Science Spot Treatment.

Mature skin 40+ makeup tips!
Avoid thick, powdery makeup that makes your skin look dry and even more wrinkly after the age of 40. Instead, focus on light and fresh makeup products that smoothes out the skin just enough, but still keeping that natural radiance and healthy looking glowy skin. Less is more as you get older I think. An example of simple everyday makeup is a hydrating light BB cream or a light powder foundation that smoothes out the skin but keeping the radiance and glow without ever feeling cakey. Possibly a creamy concealer if you need to cover up dark circles or age spots. A blush to create that rosy dewy fresh skin. Some mascara and lip gloss. That’s it! Try to enhance that healthy glow to maintain a youthful look. Avoid cakey matte powdery makeup. Well, your skin care routine is of great importance actually as it’s the foundation for your overall complexion. Also, try to accept that we are all aging and that it is perfectly OK. And remember, a smile makes all people even more beautiful!

Korean skin care 50+

By now the skin has definitely aged some. You’ll probably see visible lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, blemishes and age spots. The skin might feel softer, thinner and more saggy as it has reduced its elasticity. During and after menopause, the skin can change quite dramatically and become drier and less plump. This is because of decreased estrogen levels which breaks down collagen and elasticity of the skin. Your natural moisture barrier deteriorates as well. Pigmentation, age spots and sun damage can darken and become more prominent in your 50s. Cell renewal decreases as well.

Maybe you are thinking of more drastic methods to maintain youthful looking skin? Such as treatments and procedures at the salon or even surgery? Of course, everyone does as they please, but I’d like to promote natural beauty with or without wrinkles. Continue to using a complete nourishing, gentle and above all deeply moisturizing skin care routine both morning and evening. Use products that are targeting wrinkles, lines and pigmentation. Focus on products that do not dry out the skin, protecting the skin’s barrier, providing radiance and gently exfoliating the skin. Ingredients to look for are for example, fermented yeast, collagen, ginseng, rice, mushroom extract, glycolic acid, lactic acid, retinol, niacinamide, snail secretion, peptides, ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Exfoliate the skin 1-2g / week to promote cell renewal and good absorption of your skin care. Also read more about Retin A / retinoid above (the 40+ section) if you are considering more drastic methods that do not include surgery. Use makeup in moderation and go for a dewy healthy glow to achieve that youthful look. Check my personal makeup tips above under 40+. Use makeup sparingly on wrinkly areas under the eyes or in the smile lines. Your hair style, hair color and clothing style also contribute to how people perceive your age. It might be time to upgrade your style with the help of professionals. A welcoming smile makes all people more beautiful regardless of age. You have lived a rich life that shows, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Be proud to be you!

If you have sensitive skin that doesn’t tolerate retinol, AHA acids nor vitamin C, then invest in Korean snail products that are very gentle and still targeting wrinkles, blemishes and pigmentation.
