7 best Korean facial scrubs & chemical peels!

It’s time to scrub away dull winter skin and removing dead skin cells. Sharing my best recommendations and favorites in Korean facial scrubs, exfoliation & chemical peels.

Today I’m sharing my best tips on some awesome Korean facial scrubs, exfoliating masks and chemical peels. I’m using all of these masks right now and they really do work. We’re gonna talk about both classic facial scrubs, acid peels and products in between. Out with dull tired skin and in with fresh rosy glowing skin and improved radiance. This is what K-beauty is all about for me: Good quality skin care products within a cheap and affordable price range! Where else can one find a good quality exfoliating mask for under 10€?

Exfoliating the skin regularly is very important for promoting the skin’s regeneration process / cell turnover. The word “exfoliate” means roughly removing dead skin cells from the skin surface so that the new skin underneath emerges. Exfoliating and deeply cleansing the skin is helping cell renewal and making the new skin absorbing active skin care ingredients more efficiently. Also, exfoliation boosts the skin’s blood circulation as well. I would recommend exfoliating the skin about 2 times / week for the best results. There are different types of exfoliation, such as chemical acid peels or “manual” exfoliation, eg a tearing scrub using grains. I usually switch between different types of facial masks and exfoliation depending on what my skin needs at that time.

7 best Korean facial scrubs & peels

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
A true Korean classic loved by many and I always keep one of those on my bathroom shelf! What I like about Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off is that this facial mask is cheap, easy to use and it’s very effective. A proper classic sugar-based facial scrub with sharp grains, take it easy with this one guys. Add water for a more gentle exfoliation. Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off have the most wonderful sweet citrus scent. The skin becomes deeply cleansed and completely soft and smooth using this facial scrub. Recommended for those who want proper tearing and sharp grains. Costs about 8€ with free shipping from Korea and worth every cent.

Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off
Continuing with Skinfood classics, this facial scrub mask is also a best-selling staple item and perfect for sensitive skin types that can’t handle too much tearing. The grains of the rice in this mask are soft and exfoliating the skin very gently. What I love about Skinfood Rice Mask Wash Off is that this mask is creamy and moisturizing the skin while exfoliating. Apply to cleansed damp skin and massage. A soft, airy and creamy facial mask with a wonderful skin care scent. Highly recommended for sensitive and dry skin types that need a very gentle and soft exfoliation and improved radiance. Costs about 8€ with free shipping from Korea.

Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish
My collection of facial scrubs wouldn’t be complete without Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish. A sugar-based classic facial scrub with quite sharp grains. This mask gently cleanses the skin and makes the skin smooth and soft. It’s non irritant. This facial scrub feels premium I think. Stylish packaging and an “adult” SPA type scent of medicinal herbs. I love Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish and I gladly give these away as gifts to friends and family. Suitable for all skin types, including acne prone skin, troubled skin and sensitive skin types. Can be mixed with Klairs Cleansing Oil for an even deeper pore cleanse. Costs around 20€ with free shipping from Korea and highly recommended by me.

Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine
These red wine pads are a bit more of a luxury product which I only use a couple of times a month as the jar costs like 20€ for 30 pads only! Way too expensive it may seem, but they are truly good. Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine are basically really big generous pads with a small pocket for your fingers. The pads have 2 different sides to them. A rough gauze side and a soft more cotton-like side. Wonderful scent of red grapes and sweet red wine. Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine is a combination between an acid peel and a manual exfoliation. The rough side feels like gentle “skin grinding”, I love the feeling on my skin. The product is packed with resveratrol / AHA from naturally fermented wine. Rich in antioxidants. The skin becomes deeply cleansed and incredibly soft and fresh after using these pads. Also targeting wrinkles and pigmentation and cleansing out the pores. One single pad is sufficient for the face, the neck and the décolletage. Recommended for all skin types I would say. Perfect for mature skin, enlarged pores, oily, combination and dry skin types. I simply love these!

Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack
Yes, you’ve heard me talk about this facial exfoliating mask before. And Too Cool For School Pumpkin Sleeping Pack really makes a difference to the skin. This is a sleeping mask packed with nutrients and natural enzymes from pumpkin that gently exfoliates the skin during the night while you sleep. Also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Apply as the last step in your skin care routine at night. Already when I tried this facial mask the first 2-3 times I saw actual visible results in my skin. In the morning, the skin looks smooth and fresh with a healthy glow. A gentle nourishing and exfoliating facial mask that you can use several times a week and a “must have” in my personal skin care routine. Green mild scent. Recommended for normal, combination and dry skin types, and for dull skin that has lost its natural radiance. Generous tub costing about 11€ with free shipping from Korea. Highly recommended!

Skinfood Egg White Pore Hot Steam Pack
Skinfood Egg White Pore Hot Steam Pack is an incredibly concentrated, thick and dense facial scrub packed with small small grains. This scrub provides a warming “hot steam” effect to open the pores and deeply cleanse the skin. The warming effect is the most effective when the mask is applied on dry skin. Ingredients includes albumin extract (egg white), Jeju Volcanic Ashes and Amazon Clay. Rich in amino acids and antioxidants. Skinfood Egg White Pore Hot Steam Pack is primarily targeted towards pores, blackheads, sebum and excess oils. Mild skin care scent. I do feel this scrub mask is suitable for most skin types really, but it’s ideal for treating enlarged pores / blackheads and for normal, combination and oily skin types. The skin is deeply cleansed and incredibly soft as a baby. A really nice Korean scrub mask if you ask me. One of my favorites when I want a good old tear. However, I’m uncertain if this product is discontinued because it can be a bit difficult to find nowadays?

G9SKIN Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel
G9SKIN Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel is a newfound favorite that I started using in 2019. Large tube of 150ml. A white, glossy gel-like facial mask that you massage into dry skin. Packed with grapefruit extract and contains AHA / BHA which gently exfoliates the skin and helping the skin renewal. The acids in this mask effectively dissolves dead skin cells and impurities. Soon, small white grains are formed when using this mask. Skin debris and dirt is dissolved, just rinse everything off. The skin becomes deeply cleansed and very soft using this peeling mask, and without using sharp grains. G9SKIN Grapefruit Vita Peeling Gel feels very gentle on the skin but still effective. No stinging at all. The only thing I would like to improve is the grapefruit / rubber scent that could have been better. Other than that it’s a really good exfoliating mask in my opinion. Definitely worth 10€! Recommended for all skin types for deep cleansing, targeting clogged pores and improving the all over radiance. Can be used all over the body.
