After 4+ months of use
Product: Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream.
Type of product: Oil-based cleansing cream.
Price: 230ml / 15β¬.
Texture: Loose viscous smooth cream.
Scent: Sweet scent of lemon & sugar sponge cake.
Skin type: All, but especially dry skin.
How to use: Apply the cleansing cream on dry skin in circular motions. Dissolve makeup and impurities. Add a little water and massage some more so that the product emulsifies. Rinse your face thoroughly.
Formula: The product includes the key ingredient organic black sugar from Brazil. The product also contains refined rice wine, botanicals and it’s enriched with minerals and vitamins that hydrates and nourishes the skin.
Good: Wonderful sweet scent. The cream dissolves impurities and makeup without stinging the eyes or causing irritation. Also removes waterproof makeup. Lovely creamy formula. Cheap price and the jar is huge. You get a great amount of product for your money.
Bad: The cream is loose and viscous so the jar gets messy. You must stick your fingers directly inside the jar which is not hygienic at all. The product cleanses the skin nicely but it doesn’t completely remove heavy eye-makeup on its own. The product requires a second foaming cleanser as it leaves an oily film on the skin after use.
Results on the skin: The skin becomes clean without being stripped, dry or tight. But the product leaves an oily film on the skin.
Buy again: No.

I had high hopes for the Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream, but this product is messy and annoying to use! Here’s my review.
Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream comes in a large and generous jar of a full 230ml! The jar is made of brown plastic with a black screw cap, nothing strange there. I like the design and the feel of the whole Skinfood Black Sugar line. However, I was expecting more from the Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream. For starters, I thought the product would be much firmer and more similar to a stiff cleansing balm or something. This product is instead loose like a viscous smooth cream that is flowing around inside the jar. I would definitely have preferred a different type of packaging for such a loose “liquid” product, perhaps a handy pump bottle. The packaging eventually becomes very messy as you have to stick your fingers inside the jar all the time. And the packaging is not hygienic whatsoever! Let’s take a closer look at Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream.
Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream is a viscous smooth cleansing cream that is equivalent to an oil-based cleanser. Use the product as the first step in your cleansing routine. Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream looks like delicious loose and airy caramel fudge inside the jar and the product actually looks pretty jummy. Unexpectedly loose texture at first glance. I had expected a firmer cleansing balm as the product comes in such a huge open jar. But Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream flows around so keep the jar straight or the product will fall out. The cleansing cream has this wonderful sweet scent towards lemon sponge cake, just like the other products from the Skinfood Black Sugar line. I just love the scent of this skin care line altogether!
Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream dissolves makeup and impurities without itching or stinging the eyes and no irritating the skin. However, it doesn’t quite get rid of heavy makeup on its own.
So how do you use Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream? Well, you pretty much stick your fingers straight into the jar and try to scoop up the right amount of product. Not the easiest task, and it gets quite messy in the long run. It feels like sticking your fingers into fluffy lightly whipped cream actually. Because the jar is so large and generous at a full 230ml, I have a tendency to overdose and use quite a lot of product. Apply Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream directly on dry skin to dissolve makeup and impurities. Massage the skin in circular motions until all makeup has dissolved. Add a little water and massage further to let the product emulsify and turn white. Then rinse your face thoroughly. I like cleansing creams in general because they cleanse the skin in a gentle matter without drying, stripping out or tightening. This is also the case with Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream. But, I’m still not completely sold on this Korean cleanser unfortunately, there is a lot to be improved I feel.
Unfortunately, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream. I really wanted to love this cleanser and my expectations were high. Both the Korean classic Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off and the Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Oil from the same line are included in my skin care favorites. But the cleansing cream falls a bit flat unfortunately. Well yes, Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream absolutely dissolves makeup in a desirable way, even waterproof makeup actually. And the product really has the most wonderful scent. But I have big issues with the texture and the packaging. It’s incredibly unhygienic and annoying to stick your fingers straight into the jar all the time. Some may like that, but for me it gets messy due to the loose viscous formula. Also, if you use heavy makeup including layers of mascara and eyeliner in your waterline, there will be a lot of residue left under the eyes. You do need to go in with the cleansing cream on a cotton pad to remove heavy eye makeup. And the product unfortunately leaves a greasy oily film on the skin after use, even after rinsing I feel. A foam cleanser is therefore necessary as the second step.
Because you have to stick your fingers inside the jar, Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream is both unhygienic, messy and annoying to use.
No, I would actually not recommend the Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream to anyone really. Instead, go for the classic cleansing oil from the same line, it’s so much better. The cleansing cream would have been nicer and easier to use with a pump bottle instead! With the jar, it gets messy and greasy everywhere. The product absolutely works OK as a cleanser, but it’s cumbersome and annoying to use. And a foam cleanser is required afterwards to get rid of the oily feel that the cream leaves behind. In addition, the cleansing cream doesn’t really remove all heavy eye makeup which tends to remain under the eyes.
Plus because Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream dissolves makeup and impurities without itching or stinging the eyes nor irritating the skin. It also removes waterproof makeup. Plus because the product doesn’t strip, dry out or tighten the skin after cleansing. Plus for the wonderful sweet scent of sugar sponge cake and lemon. Plus for the incredibly generous jar of a full 230ml. Plus for the price which is around 15β¬ with free shipping from Korea. Minus for the packaging which is unhygienic, messy and cumbersome. Minus because the skin still feels oily after cleansing and the product doesn’t completely remove heavy eye-makeup on its own. Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream is barely approved by me. It falls a bit flat in my opinion, too bad as I had high hopes for this cleansing cream!
Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect Cleansing Cream has a wonderful sweet scent, but unfortunately it’s not a new favorite for me. This product is not recommended!
