Let’s test a really affordable vitamin C serum from Korea which is also hydrating the skin. Here’s my review of Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum.
Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is a Korean Vitamin C serum containing 10% Vitamin C and 84% Hyaluronic Acid. Ingredients also include niacinamide, red ginseng, various fruit, flower and plant extracts and hydrolyzed collagen. Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is made of 99% natural ingredients. This product has an anti-age formula targeting wrinkles and lines, and brightening the skin for a more even complexion. Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum also reduces sun damaged skin and smoothing out acne scars, removing dark circles and making the skin more even and firm looking.
This is my first full size product that I’ve tried and tested from the Korean brand Purito. But if you have ordered Korean skin care recently, you’ve surely, just like me, received various Purito samples? In the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum samples, the serum might have become orange or quite dark towards red. The product is still supposed to be good for use even though the serum has darkened. But I’m pretty sure it’s the vitamin C that has oxidized, making the serum much less effective. A fresh bottle of Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum should contain a light yellow serum. Good to know.
Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum comes in a dark brown frosted plastic bottle that feels nice and solid. Classic pump applicator at the top. Handy packaging and nothing strange there. The serum itself is light-flowing and translucent with a yellow hue. I think of liquid gold. 1 pump is perfect for one application I feel. The product is easy to apply on the skin and the texture is moist, smooth and almost like a light “oil”? Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is extremely sticky on the skin, but the stickiness goes away as soon as you apply the next product. The serum has good absorption in my opinion. And the stickiness is soon passing anyway. After a while it hardly feels like you’ve applied anything at all and the skin looks healthy without being oily or shiny. In other words, the formula is light and fresh. Very faint vitamin type scent. Nothing heavy or bothering at all.
Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is an incredibly affordable Korean vitamin C serum with a full 99% natural ingredients. 1 pump is just enough!
I’ve noticed from the first moment that Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum felt more gentle on the skin than many other Vitamin C Serums I have tried and tested in the past (eg Wishtrend or Tiam / OST). That’s because Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum “only” contains 10% vitamin C and a full 84% hydrating hyaluronic acid. Because I have dry skin, my skin often feels dehydrated, tight and red after using vitamin C serums. At least if I use the concentrated ones with up to 20-30% vitamin C. Vitamin C products can sometimes be too strong and harsh for the skin, so use them with caution. One can often feel that tingling or burning sensation on the skin. But using 1 pump of Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum I don’t feel any discomfort. No stinging, burning or redness. I really like the formula, and that you do get both hydration and vitamin C in one easy step. I also find that Purito’s serum feels less “tacky”, smells better and feels more fresh than many other vitamin C serums I’ve used in the past. Really nice indeed!
If the serum changes color to dark orange, that means that the vitamin C has oxidized and lost its effect. It’s not dangerous to continue to use the serum despite the darkening color. However, I prefer to use fresh vitamin C serums and I throw them away them as soon as they are oxidized. The shelf life is usually about 6 months.
Vitamin C oxidizes over time. Therefore, keep Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum in a dark and cool place for storage. For example in the fridge.
The effect on the skin is nice. After a few weeks use, my skin looks fresh and even in the morning. Much like when you’ve had a good night’s sleep. The long-lasting effect is supposed to reduce wrinkles, pigmentation and age spots making the skin even, firm and youthful looking. I would recommend Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum to most skin types actually. From normal, dry, mature and combination skin to oily skin types. Also good for acne prone skin. The serum is fresh and light, has good absorption and can be added to any skin care routine in my opinion. However, this product still contains 10% Vitamin C which is a powerful ingredient in skin care. Be careful if you have sensitive skin, irritated troubled skin or redness.
My sister with sensitive acne prone and combination skin likes Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum very much and she’s already using her second bottle. She mainly uses vitamin C to target pimples and acne, and to keep her skin even, fresh and bright looking. She has tested most of the well known Korean vitamin C serums including Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum, Tiam My Signature Red C Serum and Tiam C20 My Signature C-Source Serum (previously named OST C20 Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum). So the fact that she chooses to continue with Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum actually says a lot!
Plus because Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum has a pure formula with a full 99% natural ingredients. Plus for a neat and handy packaging. Plus for the price which is around 15β¬ with free shipping from Korea, and you do get a full 60ml of product which is very generous. I like the pure formula that contains a lot of vitamin C, but at the same time it’s packed with hydrating hyaluronic acid. No tightening, burning or stinging the skin. Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum is an effective but at the same time gentle vitamin C serum in my opinion. Very nice and highly recommended by me. The only thing I might miss is maybe an even nicer scent? Other than that, high ratings from me! This product has recently changed packaging, see image below.
If you often feel that burning, stinging or tightening sensation after using vitamin C serums, then go for the Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum. It has a gentle and hydrating formula!
