FIRST IMPRESSION: Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Shampoo & Conditioner

Let’s test a shampoo and conditioner from Korean brand Innisfree. One thing is for sure, Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh hair care line is nothing for sensitive ones!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo and Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner is a minty fresh and cooling hair care line that refreshes the scalp, balances sebum levels and counteracts oily hair. These products hydrates both the hair and the scalp. The key ingredients in the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line are as the name reveals Jeju Green Tea and mint. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo deeply cleanses the hair and the scalp, removing excess sebum and treating the pores in the scalp. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner is refreshing and moisturizing both the hair and the scalp, and also balancing sebum levels in the scalp. Both products are free from silicones.

I’ve only tested a couple of other hair care products from Korea prior to this review. My hair is thick and consists of many many fine hairs. In addition, I have dry and naturally curly hair that often becomes frizzy. I’m mainly using expensive salon brands and I have high demands on my hair care products. I usually wash my hair once a week. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line is very popular in Korea and offers affordable and active hair care products. I’m testing both the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner with an open mind. Here’s my review.

I feel you either love or hate the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line. Some might think it’s very refreshing and super great, and some might think it’s way to strong!

The bottles from the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line have a wonderful minty green color and look very fresh and inviting. Both the shampoo and the conditioner come in decent big bottles of 300ml and 200ml. Very generous amount of product and I like that.

Don’t hesitate to try the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo and Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner if you have oily hair and suffer from imbalanced sebum levels in the scalp.

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo

The Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo comes in a giant bottle of a full 300ml. Lovely minty green packaging with a press type lid on top. OMG what an active, refreshing shampoo is my first thought when testing out Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo for the first time. The shampoo really smells strongly of mint and the product feels incredibly fresh and almost cooling the scalp. One might wonder if this shampoo is actually too strong at a first glance? The scent is also not a nice modest and sweet minty scent, but more of a stinging medical mint / mentol type scent. My sister agrees and describes the shampoo as super strong. I think you either love or hate the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line. One thing is for sure, this is nothing for sensitive noses or skin types!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo is quite fluid in texture. The Shampoo looks similar to any classic shampoo really. Slightly whiteish color and glossy appearance with some pearly shimmer to it. The product foams quite easily and it really feels like this shampoo is active and deeply cleansing the hair and scalp right away. An incredibly refreshing almost cooling shampoo that leaves the hair thoroughly cleansed without feeling too dehydrating in my opinion. My sister however, think that this shampoo was way too dehydrating for her somewhat oily hair, and I suspect that she has a more sensitive scalp than I have. Our opinions differs, but this shampoo is absolutely approved by me. The hair doesn’t get heavy and there’s no residue left after using Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo.

The Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh hair line are active products and very effective deeply cleansing the hair. The scent of mint is very strong though. Nothing for sensitive scalps or noses.

I would primarily recommend the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo for normal hair and oily hair that easily gets heavy, greasy and flat. Or for those who need a proper deep cleansing shampoo. This Shampoo may feel too dehydrating and even irritating a dry sensitive scalp. My sister experienced this shampoo as too strong and almost stinging her eyes. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo is not good for sensitive scalps as the product feels active and effective. For me however, Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo works great because I only wash my hair once a week.

Big plus because the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo is free from silicones. Plus because it cleanses the hair and scalp effectively in depth (not for sensitive scalps though). Plus, because the shampoo is cooling and refreshing the scalp with a clean minty / menthol (rather strong) scent. It’s an effective product. The price is very affordable too as the shampoo costs about €10 with free shipping from Korea. The bottle is huge and a full 300ml. Minus for the fluid texture as the formula could have been more dense. Minus because both the shampoo and the scent are likely to be perceived as too strong. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo feels like an active shampoo of good quality in my opinion. If the texture had been richer the rating would have been slightly higher. The Shampoo gets 3/5 from us, and my sister basically thought this shampoo was way too strong!

If you’re looking for a proper deeply cleansing, refreshing and cooling hair care line with an actual effect, then the Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh line is great, especially if you love mint!

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner comes in a large tub of 200ml. The conditioner has the same refreshing mint type scent as the shampoo. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner looks like a thick white creamy lotion coming out of the tube. I feel that the conditioner is much more concentrated than the shampoo. The texture is thicker and more sturdy. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner will freshen up and hydrate both the hair and the scalp. The feel when using it is creamy, fresh and softening while the conditioner works in damp hair.

The hair immediately feels soft and flexible after using Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner. The product doesn’t irritate the scalp and leaves no oily film on the hair that cheap hair care products sometimes do. The hair is definitely easier to comb. Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner is suitable for most hair types in my opinion, except maybe for sensitive skin. However, I would primarily recommend Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner for normal and oily hair types that need effective and active hair care, and using it together with the shampoo from the same line. The conditioner alone works for dry hair as well.

Plus, because Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner feels rich and have a quite concentrated formula. Plus because the tube is large and a full 200ml. Very affordable too as the conditioner costs about €9 with free shipping from Korea. Plus, because the hair is left soft and easy to comb without the hair feeling heavy or oily. A really nice creamy and moisturizing conditioner that doesn’t feel cheap at all. Comparable to finer conditioners from the mall or maybe a salon brand. The scent of mint can be experienced as too strong though. The conditioner gets 4/5 in ratings from us.

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Scalp Conditioner is a really nice conditioner. My hair is left soft and easy to comb without the hair feeling heavy or oily.
