FULL REVIEW Rating 4.5 / 5
I have tested a whole range of colorful sheet masks from MASQ+. A Swedish salon brand made in Korea. Here’s my full review after using 8 sheet masks.
Actually, I think MASQ + was the very first Swedish sheet mask brand out there, but I’m not 100% sure? I remember seeing these lovely looking sheet masks at this salon in Stockholm City many many years ago. MASQ+ are developing their products in Sweden but they are made in Korea. MASQ + sheet masks are manufactured by Swedish company Powerlite AB, which is a salon brand with a holistic approach in health, beauty and well-being. Powerlite AB offers both professional salon machines in IPL and micro needling and skin care and sheet masks since the late 90’s. In these MASQ+ sheet mask lines you can find ingredients like hyaluronic acid, witch hazel and vitamins.
I haven’t tested any products from Swedish brand MASQ+ prior to this. And from what I understand the “Serum Mask” line with the butterflies in the the top of the image are a bit more “mainstream” while the “Powerlite” masks at the bottom are more premium and salon type masks for home use. Some of the blue Powerlite masks are also more expensive and supposed to be even more intense and deeply caring from what I understand. I have tested all these sheet masks and here’s my full review of MASQ + sheet masks.
MASQ + Serum Sheet Mask line
The MASQ+ Serum Mask line comes in such incredibly colorful and lovely looking packaging. Very exciting indeed. All sheet masks have specific treatment areas for example refreshing, soothing and glow. The MASQ+ Serum Sheet masks are a bit more “mainstream” so I actually didn’t expect this kind of quality! I must say that I was impressed with the MASQ+ Serum Masks when I first tried them out. These sheet masks are made of a fairly sturdy but still incredibly soft cotton-like material.
MASQ+ Serum sheet masks provide good adherence and the fit is really nice too. I love that the essence is a bit “slimy” and gel-like. It makes the sheet masks stick properly to the skin without sliding or moving. All sheet masks feel hydrating, cooling and refreshing on the skin. Sticky feeling after treatment, but the stickiness will soon pass. Suitable for most skin types and the skin becomes fresh with a healthy looking glow. The upload mask however, made my skin a little bit red and flushed.
Serum MASQ+ Upload
I got this fresh scent of vitamin pill when applying this mask to my skin. The upload sheet mask is refreshing and includes vitamin C, vitamin E and caffeine. My skin was slightly warm and red after treatment, but not too bad. Don’t know why, maybe because of the vitamin C? The skin still looked fresh with improved radiance without being excessively shiny. I would mainly recommend this sheet mask for normal, combination, oily skin and dull tired skin. Not for sensitive skin though due to possible redness and irritation. I saw when I removed the mask that the material was suddenly slightly orange looking instead of white. Maybe because of the vitamin C?
Serum MASQ+ Relax
Very fresh scent similar to detergent. Incredibly cooling and hydrating feeling on the skin throughout the whole treatment period. MASQ+ Serum Relax includes aloe vera, cucumber and green tea soothing stressed skin. Really sticky when patting in the remaining essence. But the stickiness disappeared after a short while. Afterwards, the skin looked fresh with a healthy glow without being greasy or shiny. Recommended for normal and combination skin types, oily skin and for those who want something refreshing. Slightly moisturized feeling after application. The skin was a tiny bit red in some places. Not too bad at all but worth mentioning if you have sensitive skin. I didn’t expect that from a soothing mask with Aloe Vera.
Serum MASQ+ Glow
OMG the most wonderful sweet scent. Mild floral scent of strawberries and candy. I love it. Includes ingredients like champagne, super berries and rose water. Wonderfully cooling, soft and comfortable feeling on the skin. Gel-like refreshing essence. Sticky feeling when patting in the remaining essence but the stickiness disappears after a while. The skin looks nice and fresh with improved glow without being shiny or greasy. The skin feels a bit moisturized after treatment. Serum MASQ+ Glow is definitely one of my favorites from this line because of the lovely sweet scent. Recommended for most skin types from normal, dry and mature skin to combination skin, and it should also work well for oily skin types.
Serum MASQ+ After Sun
This is an award-winning sheet mask (Swedish Beauty Awards winner 2018). Refreshing scent of eucalyptus. Also contains witch hazel and Aloe Vera. Fresh and incredibly cooling feeling on the skin throughout the whole treatment period. Transparent essence similar to a light gel. Sticky feeling afterwards. The skin feels cooled, smooth, fresh looking and moisturized but without being excessively shiny. Somewhat moisturized feeling after application. Serum MASQ+ After Sun is a really nice and cooling sheet mask perfect after those sunny days at the beach, I love it! Suitable for most skin types.
I love the slippery gel-like essence of the MASQ+ Serum mask line. Good fit and very nice adherence as well.
Powerlite MASQ + Sheet Mask line
The Powerlite sheet masks are a premium line with more of a salon type quality. These are even more deeply caring and intense. I have to say that the sheet masks from the Powerlite line are similar to the cheaper MASQ+ Serum masks. Pretty much the same quality I would say. The same soft lovely material, the same nice fit, and a similar light transparent essence. The Powerlite line however, has a pattern on the sheet masks and the material feels slightly thinner than the Serum Masks. Very nice adherence and the skin is thoroughly embraced by these sheet masks throughout the whole treatment period, without the masks slipping or moving. All the sheet masks in the Powerlite MASQ+ line are of good quality in my opinion. These masks come in a variety of ingredients targeting different treatment areas and skin concerns.
Powerlite MASQ + Rejuvenating & Moisture
This sheet mask feels incredibly cooling on the skin. Comfortable, refreshing and deeply hydrating the skin. Really fresh mild cent of citrus and wet wipes that’s not too strong at all. This sheet mask includes ingredients like hyaluronic acid, witch hazel and vitamins C and E. Targeting dry skin, aging and stressed skin. Really sticky feeling when patting in the remaining essence. The skin looks really fresh with improved radiance. Moisturized feel but without the skin being greasy or shiny. I like the result. I would recommend this sheet mask for normal, dry and mature skin types. After a short while however, I saw a little bit of redness on my skin.
Powerlite MASQ + Soothing and Calming
An incredibly refreshing sheet mask with a scent similar to detergent and menthol. I think of eucalyptus, pine trees and mint fragrance. Contains Aloe Vera, witch hazel and vitamin B3. Very relaxing, hydrating and cooling sensation on the skin. I didn’t expect such a refreshing scent on a soothing sheet mask. Really sticky feeling on the skin after application, but the stickiness will soon pass. The skin looks fresh, healthy, soft and hydrated with new improved radiance and glow. I like Powerlite MASQ + Soothing and Calming a lot! I would recommend this sheet mask for normal, dry and combination skin types. It would probably work well for sensitive skin as well. I used this sheet mask in Spain after a few days in the sun, and I think it worked great as a cooling “after sun” mask!
Powerlite MASQ + Firming & Nutrition mask
This sheet mask has a gel-like fresh translucent essence. Refreshing scent of citrus, orange and wet wipes. Incredibly cooling on the skin, very nice and relaxing. The skin is immediately de-stressed and hydrated. Really sticky feeling when patting in the remaining essence. The skin was left fresh, hydrated, resilient and soft with new radiance. No major results on wrinkles and lines, but the skin absolutely looks firm and healthy, feeling very cooled and refreshed. I would recommend this sheet mask for most skin types really. From normal and dry skin to combination skin. Especially good for mature skin and wrinkles as this mask improves skin elasticity and provides firmer skin. A really nice cooling sheet mask. I like it!
Powerlite MASQ + After Sun
This sheet mask is specially designed for use after a day in the sun. Calming, cooling and hydrating the skin. Includes ingredients like Aloe Vera, Witch hazel and Sea buckthorn. Transparent thin and refreshing essence. Somewhat sweet summery fruity scent of orange and vitamins. Wonderfully cooling feeling on the skin throughout the whole treatment period. Incredibly sticky when patting in the remaining essence, but the stickiness disappears after a while. The skin looks fresh and healthy with improved radiance, but without the skin being excessively shiny or greasy. Very nice sheet mask that’s cooling the skin very well. I like it!
MASQ+ sheet masks are absolutely comparable to classic Korean sheet masks. And if you want to try a Swedish brand then MASQ+ is absolutely perfect in my opinion.
The difference between MASQ+ Serum Masks and Powerlite Sheet Masks?
All of these sheet masks are quite similar but there are some minor differences between the MASQ+ Serum masks and the Powerlite sheet masks. The Powerlite masks have a patterned material that is slightly thinner. The MASQ+ Serum masks are slightly thicker in the material and the essence is perhaps a bit thicker and more gel-like. Slightly thinner and more light flowing essence in the Powerlite masks. But I would say that overall, both sheet mask lines are pretty much equal. Very refreshing sheet masks with good absorption. I didn’t think any of the sheet mask lines gave better results on the skin than the other. Fit, material and essence are just as good in both lines in my opinion. I would pretty much go on price and treatment area buying these masks.
Because the essence of all these sheet masks is light, transparent and fresh, I would recommend MASQ+ sheet masks to pretty much all skin types actually. From normal, oily and combination skin to dry and mature skin types. Maybe not for sensitive skin as I felt a little bit of redness after using some of these sheet masks. Do not exceed the treatment time of 20-30 minutes because the sheet masks might start to dry slightly after that. Especially if you have dry skin to begin with.
My personal favorites are the Powerlite MASQ+ Rejuvenating & Moisture, MASQ+ Serum After Sun and the wonderful MASQ+ Serum Glow that has the sweetest scent ever. Powerlite MASQ+ Soothing and Calming was really refreshing and hydrating the skin. Just perfect as an “after sun” treatment mask after a hot day at the beach.
MASQ+ masks have a really nice fit, good adherence and provide really refreshing and cooling sheet mask suitable for most skin types.
Plus for the nice fit and good adherence throughout the whole treatment time without the sheet masks moving or sliding. I really like the essence being a bit slippery and “slimy” on the serum masks. Great plus for the material that is so incredibly soft and perfectly adapting to the skin. Plus because these masks are easy to deal with, no fuzz. Most sheet masks cost around 3-4β¬ / pc which is quite reasonable. But there are Korean sheet masks of the same quality that are much cheaper. Some of the Powerlite sheet masks however, cost up to 7β¬ / pc which is a very expensive in my opinion. Minus because the Upload Mask made my skin a little red and flushed. I would not recommend that one for sensitive skin types. Otherwise very nice and refreshing sheet masks, absolutely worth trying!
MASQ+ sheet masks are absolutely comparable to classic Korean sheet masks and keep a good quality in my opinion. And if you want to test a Swedish brand then MASQ+ is absolutely perfect I think. These masks are also easy to get hold of in stores and pharmacies all over Sweden, or buying them online!Spread the word and share
