Do you remember the 7 skin method? Let’s test the new hot trend from Korea – To apply 7 layers of toner or essence in sequence.

I’ve written about this new skin care trend from Korea before. It’s called 7 skin method, read more about the 7 skin method here. In short, 7 skin method is about applying 7 layers of caring toner or essence in sequence. Apparently, the skin will get so deeply hydrated and saturated that you don’t even need to use a face cream at all! Yes you heard me!

I’ve heard that one should use a waterbased essence or toner for the 7 skin method, and preferably one with hazel. I have chosen to test the 7 skin method using SON&PARK Beauty Water. I think Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence might be too strong for this. And I don’t have access to any other Korean essence or toner at the moment…

I started by cleansing my face with a foaming cleanser. My skin was dry before I started the 7 skin method. I applied one layer of toner after the other and carefully patted my skin using my hands, until the skin had fully absorbed all of the product. Then I applied another layer, and another, for an entire 7 times. Son&Park Beauty Water in particular gave a sticky feel on my skin when applying. However, when all product was fully absorbed properly after 7 layers, my skin felt hydrated and not sticky at all.

I’ve got some freckles right now since I just got home from sunny Spain in case you’re wondering. But yes, I actually think that my skin was properly hydrated, moisturized with new luster and glow. Even though I think that a Korean essence would provide even better results. But I’m happy with the result! The after image is when all of the toner was completely absorbed by the skin.

I think that the 7 skin method could work well for normal, combination or oily skin because you pat a lot of hydration into the skin without feeling oily. A korean toner or essence is often very thin in texture. I myself have dry skin and believe that the 7 skin method would work even better if I had used a more caring essence instead of a toner. In short, choose a product according to your skin type for best results.

Yes! – 7 skin method works!

Conclusion: 7 skin method works! I didn’t use any face cream afterwards, and my skin felt hydrated and moisturized with a fresh glow. But it was very time consuming  applying 7 layers of product!
